DYBA take on Devon Colts

OUCH!
The Academy bowlers took on a strong experienced Devon Colts team at Honiton on Sunday 12th December 2021. The Devon Colts are a team of youngish bowlers, up to 25 years old, who play together weekly and have played together for many years and have vast experience indoors and out up to playing in national finals as team members or as individuals. It was a tough ask for our youngsters, several of whom were playing their first match for the Academy, but they all performed extremely well and there efforts were appreciated by the supporters, family and friends who had travelled to support them.
Emma Langridge, Matthew Yarnold and Tom Gilley did exceptionally well to lead until the penultimate end and only lose by 1 shot.
All the Academy bowlers should be proud of their achievement and kept battling to the last end in a situation where we have seen many adult bowlers capitulate.
After the match “Academy Caps” were presented to Hannah Edwards, Maria Martins, Leo Bramley and Nesta Roberts for playing their first representative match.
