Ireland visits Dorset

Over the weekend of the 14th and 15th August 2021 Poole Parkc BC played host to an Irish International Development squad of 7 women and 6 men all under 31, who played a selected regional team from neighbouring counties predominantly under the age of 30. Several Dorset players were in action with the youngest players being Dorset Youth Bowls Academy members Millie Tuck at 16 and Nathan Wood at 17, both of whom played very well and gained valuable experience from competing against Irish International and potential commonwealth games players. Over the four matches played, the Regional select women came out on top winning 14 points to 6 however the men were up against a high quality Irish men’s team and only managed to pick up 4 points to 14 which meant our Irish visitors won 20 points to 18 overall! A great weekend was had by all!
