DRESS CODE

1. General

a. When County or Club coloured shirts are worn all members of the side/team must wear the same colour provided that the design and colour of the shirt has been approved and registered with Bowls England or Bowls Dorset. (Bowls England rule)
b. White headwear may be worn and may display a discreet county or sponsor logo.
c. Ladies Officers when on duty, to wear Uniform with Green Blazers.
d. If shorts are the preferred dress only Bowls England licensed and approved shorts may be worn in all rounds of Competitions leading to and playing in National Finals, Johns Trophy, Walker Cup and Amy Rose, Middleton Cup, Balcombe Trophy and White Rose Trophy. (Bowls England rule)
e. Where the dress code on offer includes white shirt, or white blouse or white bowling shoes please read predominantly white  
f. Failure to comply with dress code may result in Disqualification from the competition or Deduction of League Points.

2. Ladies Code

When travelling and playing for Bowls Dorset in:

a. Double Rink and John’s Trophy

i. Travel in County shirts, with county jackets, grey regulation skirts, or tailored full length grey trousers or tailored plain cropped grey trousers or Bowls England  licensed and approved grey shorts, white shoes
ii. Play in County shirts, gold fleeces, with green fleeces or county jackets, white/cream regulation skirts, or tailored full-length white trousers, or tailored plain cropped white trousers or Bowls England licensed and approved white shorts, white bowling shoes.
iii. Officers when on duty, to wear Green Blazers otherwise as above.
iv. Gold fleeces may be worn with the above

b. Presidents Day

i. Officers and Past President’s, As above but past presidents pre 2010 may wear their gold shirts if they do not have a Bowls Dorset County shirt. *Note: It is not necessary for Past Presidents to change their blazer badge to a Bowls Dorset badge unless they wish to do so.
ii. Clubs and Guests,  White or club coloured shirts club blazers (optional), white/cream regulation skirt, or tailored full length white trousers or tailored plain cropped white trousers, white bowling shoes.

c. County Matches

When travelling and playing for Bowls Dorset in South West Counties League and friendly County Matches
i. Travel in County shirts with county jackets, grey regulation skirts, or tailored full length grey trousers or tailored plain cropped grey trousers or Tailored Knee length or Bowls England licensed and approved grey shorts, white shoes
ii. Play in County shirts, gold fleeces, green fleeces or county jackets, white/cream regulation skirts, or tailored full-length white trousers, or tailored plain cropped white trousers or Tailored Knee length or Bowls England licensed and approved white shorts, white bowling shoes.
iii. Officers when on duty, to wear Green Blazers otherwise as above.
iv. Gold fleeces may be worn with the above

d. Presentation Luncheon

Smart Casual Dress

e. All stages of County Competitions

Before the quarter final stage of the competition white or club coloured shirts, grey regulation skirts, tailored full length grey trousers, tailored plain cropped grey trousers, or Bowls England licensed and approved grey shorts white/brown/grey bowling shoes.

Quarter finals, semi-finals and finals – white or club coloured shirts, white/cream regulation skirts, tailored full length white trousers, tailored plain cropped white trousers or Bowls England licensed and approved white shorts, white  bowling shoes

Two woods competition:-
white or club coloured shirts white/cream regulation skirts, tailored full-length white trousers, tailored plain cropped white trousers or Bowls England licensed and approved white shorts, white bowling shoes

f. June Culpin Trophy, Lust Trophy, Benevolent Triples Competition, Cobern Trophy and Edna Paisley League

g. Ladies Past Presidents

allowed to wear Green County Blazers at all times

3. Men’s Code

a. When representing the County in Middleton Cup, Balcomb Trophy, White Rose, U25 competitions

i)   Travel in smart casual (Not shorts).
ii)   Play in long white trousers or Bowls England licensed and approved white shorts, with White Belt (If worn) (Braces
not visible if worn). County Shirts, White Socks and White Bowling Shoes.

b. When representing the County in friendly matches

i)   Travel in a plain White Shirt, with County Tie and Blazer. Grey Trousers, Black belt and Shoes.
ii)  Play in long White Trousers or knee length tailored white shorts or Bowls England Licensed and approved white shorts  with White Belt (If Worn) (Braces not visible if worn). County Shirts, White Socks and White Bowling Shoes.

c. When playing in the Preliminary Rounds of County Competition

Play in White Shirts with Collar or club colour approved Shirts, Long Grey Trousers or Bowls England licensed and approved grey shorts and White/Brown Bowling Shoes.

d. When playing in Quarter Finals, Semi Finals of County Championships, the Final of County and other County Competitions played on a finals day

Play in White Shirts with Collar or Club coloured approved shirts, Long White Trousers Bowls England licensed and approved White Shorts, with White Belt (if worn) (Braces not visible if worn), White Socks and White Bowling Shoes.

e. When playing in League Matches

Play in White Shirts with Collar or club colour approved Shirts, Long Grey Trousers or knee length tailored Dark grey shorts or Bowls England Licensed and approved Grey shorts, and White/Brown Bowling Shoes

f. U16 Bowlers

are permitted to wear their Club U16 registered Kit, registered and approved (By Bowls England and Bowls Dorset) Clothing throughout all stages of
i. Preliminary Rounds of County Competitions
ii. When playing in Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals of County
iii. Under 16 implies, not yet 16 years of age on the 1st April, in the year of Competition
