Ladies President's Charity 2024

Bowls Dorset's 2024 Ladies President, Bobbie Cover, announces her Charity for her Presidential year. Bobbie, seen accepting the chain of office from outgoing Ladies President Janine Scola, is supporting the Alzheimer's Society.

Dementia is seen by the Society to be the biggest health and social challenge of our time. It estimates there to be currently 900,000 people in the UK with dementia. Many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone. The Society anticipates that 1 in 3 people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime and that by 2040 1.6 million people are expected to be living with it.

The Society is working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. It does this by giving advice and support to those living with dementia, and providing hope for the future in funding groundbreaking research.

Bobbie is very aware of the impact dementia can have and hopes that the bowlers of Dorset will dig deep and support the Alzheimer's Society in her Presidential year.
